Corticalis joins two European Doctoral Training Networks
🔬 Corticalis AS is proud to contribute as an associated partner in two Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Training Networks
Both initiatives build on our ongoing Norges forskningsråd-funded DEBRIGEL project and reflect growing recognition of our commitment to advancing peri-mucositis and peri-implantitis care through innovation.
StraDiVarious, led by Adrian Goldman at the University of Helsinki, focuses on addressing antimicrobial resistance by investigating the early-stage interactions between pathogenic bacteria and host cells.
SHIELD, coordinated by Margarita Trobos at the University of Gothenburg, tackles implant-associated infections in orthopaedics and odontology. The project integrates regenerative medicine, biomaterials research, and clinical translation to pioneer novel antibacterial solutions.
As part of these consortia, Corticalis will: 1) Provide doctoral candidates with hands-on experience in dental implant debridement, 2) Support non-antibiotic biomaterials development, 3) Share insights into the regulatory landscape of medical devices in Europe.
We are committed to helping shape the next generation of MedTech innovators by equipping them with specialised, cross-disciplinary expertise relevant to EU industry needs.
As highlighted in the recent Norges forskningsråd National Report on the Evaluation of Medicine and Health in Norway (2023–2024), strengthening research-industry collaboration is essential to increasing societal impact. These projects represent an important step in that direction.
We look forward to working with University of Oslo alongside leading European partners—and to supporting talented PhDs as they prepare to enter and shape the future of the EU MedTech sector.
